After their wedding venue went bust and they lost years and thousands of pounds worth of savings Lauren Lane and Daniel Welch were on the brink of not getting married but after a Twitter campaign their wedding was saved.

The wedding venue that they’d booked went bust, and with it went their savings for their wedding. After teetering on the edge of not getting hitched, the couple finally managed to tie the knot. They launched a campaign on Twitter which led to thousands of different people and companies donating money, gifts and services. Even celebrities like Davina McCall and Dannii Minogue donated money to help their cause.

Among the things donated were a chocolate cake, jewellery, a new wedding planner and even a pair of diamond wedding rings. Different companies donated different things as it’s seen as a good form of advertisement for the company.

The company who donated the beautiful wedding rings to the cause for example will see an increase in the amount of rings that they sell, or the company that donated a cake will see an increase in the number of wedding cakes that they sell. Yes, a weird form off advertising, but nevertheless it’s an effective way.

After getting a retweet from Davina McCall to her 1,054,000 followers and from Dannii Minogue to her 832,000 followers, things just went from strength to strength for the couple and now they’re happily wed and thanking everyone who made their day so special because, without the help from others, there wouldn’t have been a big day!

We have had a few new members of staff join our team recently and we wanted to introduce you to a few of them,

Rowan, he is currently working weekends at Longridge and part time in both our Concepts and Wayfarers shops during the holidays.   He has had quite a bit of customer service and sales experience and  is currently at college studying Performing Arts and A Level Drama and is wishing to continue his studies at Manchester Metropolitan University to study Fashion Buying. So no matter where you shop you are sure to meet Rowan at some point!

Camilla has started working with us on a Saturday in Southport, she is currently at KGV where she is studying Art, Business, English and History. She has had some previous sales experience and has really enjoyed working with the Pandora range.

Joel yet another member of our family has joined the Southport shops, he generally works weekends in Wayfarers, however whilst he is on his holidays, he has been offering a lot of support in our administration team.  He is currently at college studying Maths, further Maths, Physics and Biology.  He has had previous customer service experience from working within a restaurant and is really enjoying the working environment of retail!

Meghan currently works every Sunday  at the Concepts shop, she has had previous retail experience and originally worked for us in 2007 to add to her work experience and we are glad to have her back now as a permanent member of the team. Meghan is currently studying A Level Media English and Art at KGV college in Southport and is hoping to go onto Manchester Metropolitan University to study further in Fashion Textiles and Technology.

This is just a few of the new starters we have had start over the past couple of months.  With the expansion of Tienne some of our existing staff have progressed onto new roles within the company, we really wish all our new staff and staff who have been promoted into new roles all the best!

It has been an extremely busy time for Sally with the opening of “Concepts by Tienne” she is now the manager at our new shop.  For those of you who have shopped with us at Longridge and Southport Wayfarers will know Sally and we wish her all the best in her new role.

Not only has she just become a manager, Sally was also proposed to a couple of weeks ago and she said ‘Yes’, so it looks like she will be extremely busy over the next few months!

Tienne are pleased to announce that they have secured the contract to open a shop that will in the most part be dedicated to the brand ‘Pandora’ amongst other leading brands.  We are due to open in July 2010 on Lord Street in Southport.

Another member of the family will be joining Tienne on a full time basis.  Laura will be  managing the online side of our business and offering administrative support to all our shops she will be based at the new shop ‘Concepts by Tienne’  in Southport we wish her all the best in her new role.

To be in keeping with our new look brand, we have had our website redesigned,  the boys at Marble Media have listened to what we wanted and have produced a very informative and pretty website to keep all of our customers up to date with all events and promotions.
